While trying to get her life back on track, Pennie discovers a dead body at the local animal shelter where she volunteers as a dog walker. Already feeling compelled to find justice for the dead woman, she is doubly motivated when the lead detective focuses on Pennie as the main suspect.
Her old partner Chip, who is also investigating the case, is no help since he has recently started dating the lead detective. With the evidence and the jealousy stacking up, she must find the killer before she gets arrested for the murder or becomes the next victim!
