Padilla was raised in Red Bluff, California, and briefly lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, & Orange Counties. During his youth, many of his summers were spent in Ketchikan, Alaska.
His experience as an insurance claims adjustor, traveling throughout the US for disaster duty combined with handling improbable injuries, rape and even murder gave him a unique point of view. This occupation also took him into court rooms, requiring a deep understanding about the legal process. It's no surprise that his reading influences were early Stephen King, Tom Clancy and John Grisham.
As an avid moviegoer, Padilla's writing style includes vivid mental images. Combining this focus with his layered educational background (initially a Physics major but graduating with a BA in Economics and minor in Psychology) provides unique perspectives. His stories include some historical fact, then takes the reader through unpredictable action and mayhem with surprising twists and turns.
Padilla's previous works include "Rule One Twenty", "Michaso (the Korean word for crazy)" and "Tunnels" (2018 American Book Fest finalist Thriller: General category). The sequel to Rule One Twenty is titled "Sentinel Event" (2019 American Fiction Awards finalist Thriller: General category) and "Gamers". He is currently working on "G3- The Journey".
